How to disable Native Wifi? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to control Wifi connections with WPA_Supplicant under WEC 7. This seems to be impossible as long as the Native Wifi filter driver is running. I'm not sure about the exact reason, but I suppose Native Wifi interferes the communication between WPA_Supplicant and the WLAN module.

I managed to disable Native Wifi by removing the registry keys Comm/LWFilters/{E475CF9A-60CD-4439-A75F-0079CE0E18A1}, Comm/nwifi and Comm/nativewifip.

That way, WPA_Supplicant works like a charm. However, removing those registry keys leads to a boot-loop whenever the WLAN hardware is powered on while booting up the system.

Is there a better way, or lets say a recommended way, to disable Native Wifi functionality?

    Regards, Christian
