Where can I get a list of all updates to .NET Framework 4.5? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Where can I get a list/feed of all updates to .NET Framework 4.5?

I'm particularly interested in updates for Win7sp1 and Server 2008 R2 sp1 but I'd happily take a list of all and sift them myself?

  • Hello SSG31415926,

    Thanks for your post.

You'll just need to open Windows Updates and your OS will help you upgrade all required components via Windows Updates.

If you want to know the list of them, you can open your Control Panel->Programs->Uninstall a Program->View installed Updates. Then you will be able to know updates for .NET 4.5 which on my list of Win 7 is KB2729460~KB2805226.

Then please search with the update number for example KB2729460 and you will find it available from Download Center: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35735

I'm sorry I didn't find any official sites which listed this info for you so if you want to do this you will need to search them manually.

Anyway your issue was more related to a Windows Update issue and please refer to this link:

  • Thanks for the reply.  Windows Update is no good to me because I'm a enterprise customer.  We use SCCM to patch machines.  Only security patches are applied automatically.  If I want a machine with all of the .NET updates applied, I need to request them individually.  So, I need a list.

It seems ridiculous to me that I can't go to the MSDN page for .NET or the TechNet page for .NET and get such a list.  Why do MS put so much effort into fixing bugs and so little effort into publicising the fixes?  Rant over.

  • Hi,

Actually, if you go to the MSDN page for .NET that you linked, and follow the link an the right edge for "All .NET Framework Downloads", you can change the sort to newest to oldest, and see a pretty good list:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/search.aspx?q=.net%20framework&p=0&r=10&t=&s=availabledate~Descending

Does this give you what you want, or do you need me to research further?
