How to change default container in Hive RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Can any one provide me procedure to update default container name in Hive. i try to modify the  C:\apps\dist\hadoop-2.4.0.2.1.10.0-2290\etc\hadoop\core-site.xml but the new values are not getting reflected. Is their any Hive command to update default config value like default container, default storage account or adding secondary storage account for accessing blobs from hadoop from different storage account. I try to use SET command but it is not working

  • Hi Mahender,

Not sure about your business scenario but it's not recommended. You can configure multiple containers configure on HDInsight (after RDP on cluster) but again changes will not prevent due to cluster reimage process.

Once you created the cluster and want to add another storage/container then drop the cluster and recreate the cluster through PowerShell and add default and another storage/container.

One thing to keep in mind before you delete/drop the cluster is where you store hive and oozie metastore.

    Hope this helps
