Reset Dropdown List RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an Recruitment approval process. To approve an approver would select from a dropdown list to approve or reject. (Approve/reject - Values)

Imagine if the same dropdown is required to be reset, if a condition changes, say for example the contract recruitment is extended & on extension,  the same item is re-sent or copied fresh to approver with empty dropdown list.

I am not able to update the dropdown lists with any other value. Any suggestion, would be highly appreciated

    Regards

  • Hi John,

I think you can use workflow created by ShaerPoint Designer. The workflow should run whenever an item is edited and if the value of a field is changed (i.e. contract), then reset the value of approval field. Be careful not to cause an infinite loop with your workflow. Have a look at this post about creating similar workflow that will run when certain field is updated only:

  • HI,

I would suggest you to follow this:

    1. Create a list say list A.

    2. Create a colum say B.

    3. Now in B add your all values.

    4. Now use B as a look up column. If in future you need to change anything in this you can simple change values of B in list A and this will work for you.

I hope this will help you out.
