error on application server while converting .doc file to .pdf using .net 2.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • we have a code to convert .doc extension file to .pdf file using microsoft interop; when debugging the code it does not give any error the process is fine; but when deployed in application server sometimes it gives the following error

    [The message filter indicated that the application is busy. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8001010A (RPC_E_SERVERCALL_RETRYLATER))]

    wrote a method to kill the process on server

    public

    bool FindAndKillProcess(stringname){try{

    foreach (Process clsProcess in Process.GetProcesses()){

    if (clsProcess.ProcessName.StartsWith(name)){

    clsProcess.Kill();

    return true;

    }}}catch (Exception)

    {}

    return false;}

    but still the error persist...does anyone have a workaround on this???any help would be appreciable...

  • As you're not using the VSTO technology I'm going to move your question to the Word for Developers forum.

    Office applications are not meant to be used server-side as they're targeted for end-users. You may want to review the information in this article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/257757/en-us

    Most likely, Word is displaying a message box and waiting for user input. Hook up a display monitor to your server, make the Word.Application visible, then run your code and see what's bothering Word...
