How to use JQuery in WinJS Application?

    Question

  • I am working on WinJS application and I need to insert JQuery into my application. I want to make use of JQuery to build a slider like in this webpage

     http://demo.tutorialzine.com/2011/12/what-you-need-to-know-html5-range-input/slider-jqueryui.html

    but it's not working. The coding part you can get from this link

     http://tutorialzine.com/2011/12/what-you-need-to-know-html5-range-input/

    I used this file "jquery-1.8.0-windows8-ready " downloaded. I am new to this technology. Please suggest me how to solve this problem?

  • from the link you provided, it look like this plugin is not compatible with IE so it will not work with windows store app .

    but in general you can use Jquery 2.x with is more compatible with windows store apps, but i recommend you to use WinJS native controls as it will be better in term of performance and capability.

    here is how to use WinJs native range control (slider)

    <input type="range" />

  • Hi madhu72kumar,

    I agreed with Ahmed, if you simply want to use the slider from JQuery, why not try WinJS Slider?

    Some additional information, this article should help you to learn make JQuery and WinJS work together: http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/appbuilder/archive/2013/07/10/jquery-and-winjs-working-together-in-windows-store-apps.aspx
