Port a .Net application to .Net CF RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have an application which has been developped a year ago in .Net and that my company would like to port it to .Net CF 3.5. (WM 6.5)

Knowing the .Net CF is a ligh version of .Net, is it recommended to even try to port some app from .Net to .Net CF ( as i believe quite much implementation will have to be done to fill up the gap due to missing features/dll in .Net CF)

=> does this would require a huge job?i.e more than reimplementing the app using .NEt CF from scracth?

    Any advices would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Seb

  • I've ported pretty big chunks of code from desktop (System.Data, System.Messaging, System.Core to name a few), so it's certainly doable.

Whatever it worth it in your specific case - you'll need to try it. Just create new device project, add existing source files to it and see what's missing.
