Import Project actual hrs from OLAP cube RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We use Project Server, (PWA), and Project Professional 2016.

Resources use an external bespoke timesheet system for actual project hrs. These are consolidated in a database reportable via an OLAP cube and Power BI.

Is there a way we can interrogate the OLAP cube in the same way as we do with Excel and Pivot-tables?

  • Hello BodgitNZ

Are you trying to report on the actual hours from the external database in OLAP cube or are you trying to push the actual hours into PWA?

  • Hello,

Excel should be able to connect to the custom OLAP cube just like you are doing with Power BI. What issue the issue you get when trying to connect to your custom OLAP cube from Excel?

  • Hi Michael, sorry for the delay. Either would be good but the latter would be ideal.

  • Hi Paul,

Trying to import to Project in the same way as we do with Excel. Ideally 'automagically' updating resource actual hours
