Add a layer, assign a colour and make it transparent RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have to put a layer on to top of a graphic, but it has to be a specific

colour and transparent so you can still see the graphic (diagram) below.

If you then click on the layer it dissapears and you can see that section of the diagram

I can do the layer and assign a colour, but don't know how to make it transparent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • You need javascript to change the class on the div.

  • Bear in mind that if you're talking about "layer" in terms of the absolutely positioned layers available in EW, you may be setting yourself up for a fall. If other elements on the page contain text, and a vision-impaired user (or someone on a small high-res screen) resizes text in their browser, or has system fonts set to a larger size, that layer may not be able to move to get out of the way when the text resizes, causing your layout to break. Your site would then not be accessible to those users, which could make you liable for civil financial penalties. Just something to consider...
