Download files from website based on file extension RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to download a file from a website where the file is randomly generated but has a consistent file extension ".hht"?  The file name has a timestamp so I can't set a static name in the code.  I am using "MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP" for my object.  If I have to, I can download it to a static name locally (e.g. "temp.hht").

    Thanks in advance.

    Damon

  • You might want to look at command line tools called curl and wget You can call them from VBA.

The wget command for jpg is

    wget -r -A .jpg http://site.with.images/url/
