Creating an MSI file from a Windows Store Application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All

When I create a package for my windows 8.1 store application it creates it in APPX format file with a Powershell installer which i provide to my client. The client we are working with requires this in MSI format. I have tried to convert APPX to MSI but unfortunately I have found no way of doing this. So my question is as you can use visual studio installer project to create MSI files for Windows Form Applications. I was wondering if there is a way this can be done for Windows store applications aswell and if so can you tell me how?

  • Hi MedeTrax,

No, you can't make this conversion.

Currently, there doesn't exist such way to convert your appx package into .msi file.
