browsing a user computer for files RRS feed

I know the "file/upload" control browses the user's computer for files to upload, but can you browse without uploading?  In other words, obtain the file name that the user selected, and then send it to Azure-storage  instead of sending it to your own server?

    Thanks,

Only with client-side software.  You'd need to write an ActiveX or other tool to do this.

    No you can't.

The FileUpload control doesn't 'browse' anything. It is rendered as an <input type='file' /> in the browser, which invokes a file browse dialog. You have no control over it or its content until the user chooses to submit the parent form. At that point, you get the streamed file data. You only have control over anything at that point, including getting the file name (but not its original path).
