Powershell Automation Public folders RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Would it be possible to use powershell with exchange 2007 to manage and automate the movement of folders within public folders? So to group folders toghther within a new folder based on matching or similar titles?

  • No the Cmdlet's don't allow you to alter the content at all for this you would need to use a Client API so either MAPI, WebDAV or EWS and also have Client permissions to the folders in question.

  • Brilliant thankyou,

However we are also about to swap our exchange server from 2007 to 2013, if we used a Clinet API on 2007 exchange would that still work on 2013?

  • WebDAV will only work on 2007 but if you use EWS or MAPI it should work fine but you should read the notes in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/exchange/jj945067(v=exchg.150).aspx

    Cheers
