  • Question

  • Hi

    I am trying to get the BING Speech API working on are website. I can get the solutions working for any audio which is converted with audacity as a stanadard wav 16bit format . now I want to do this using a command line interface ffmpeg

    ffmpeg -i "+originalFile+" -acodec pcm_s16le -ac 1 -ar 16000 "+newFile

    unformatuly the cmd conversion simply does not work and the only response I get from the API is error : request ID XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX .

    could someone point me either in the correct ffmpeg conversion or how to convert the error code into something more usefull

    all the best

  • -If anyone want to do cmd audio conversion use sox not ffmpeg it add and extra header onto the wav which the sdk does not like

    sox -V '+originalFile+' -c 1 -r 16000 '+newFile

  • it expects 8bit per sample pcm_s16le -> pcm_u8

    the difference can be seen with mplayer
