Why does my Bing Map only take up a small portion of the area allotted to it? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Bing Map that I want to take up a large area of my page, but it only takes up a smidgin in the upper left corner of its boundary. Actually, at Design Time it's perfect - it does exactly what I want. But at run time it shrinks up into the NW corner...

    How can I get it to stretch out to fill the whole area?

    Here's my winrt-xaml:

        <Grid Margin="140" Background="DarkOrange">
            <Grid.RowDefinitions>
                <RowDefinition Height="120"/>
                <RowDefinition Height="*"/>
                <RowDefinition Height="Auto" />
                <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/>
                <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/>
                <RowDefinition Height="Auto" />
                <RowDefinition Height="*"/>
                <RowDefinition Height="*" />
                <RowDefinition Height="*"/>
                <RowDefinition Height="*"/>
            </Grid.RowDefinitions>
            <Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
                <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/>
                <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/>
                <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/>
                <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/>
                <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/>
            </Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
     . . . // all of the non-map components elided
            <Maps:Map x:Name="crosbyMap" Grid.Column="4" Grid.Row="1" Grid.RowSpan="10" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Credentials="4270-ElevenThisandThatEtc" />
