MSDN File Transfer Program "Technical" Problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Where do I raise an issue with the Microsoft File Transfer Program that's used for MSDN Downloads.

I'm going round in endless loops trying to find out why I can't download software ("Not enough disk space" when there's 84GB space free on a VIsta Ultimate system) and caught between a rock and a hard place: The forums direct you to customer support or the concierge but they only deal with administration "Nothing technical" and there's no obvious forum area for "technical" problems to do with the mess that is MSDN delivery.

This is clearly a technical issue - the wretched MSDN File transfer program is not working the way I want it to (and by the way this isn't a Quota issue - quotas have been disabled on my system) and I've seen plenty of people raising it on non-Microsoft forums but never any real resolution.

    Best forum to ask, please?

I am sorry to hear you have not gotten the appropriate support for your technical issue. The Subscriptions contact center (contacts at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa948875.aspx for MSDN and http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/bb856399.aspx for TechNet) is the appropriate place for you to go for support.

As you are aware, they first contact agents do not have the technical expertise to address this issue, and they are supposed to escalate to the next Tier of support. The next tier of support has specific troubleshooting and diagnostic tools to look specifically at FTM issues.

Please contact support again and request to have your ticket escalated.
