  • Question

  • Can you change the default icon for the add, edit and delete on top of the grid?

Answers

  • You can change the icon for each button individually.
Select the button and click the "Choose Image..." link in the Appearance group in the Properties pane.

I don't think you can globally change the default icon for each button type.

(I think the default images are built-in to the grid control.)

  • Hi Cromanty

Can you tell which software to edit images? and if that product also makes resizing.

  • JaimeH,

It's actually SnagIt by TechSmith.  For more info go to their website here: http://www.techsmith.com/snagit/

It has a lot of functionality for capturing and editing. I bought the version 9 for $29 and I believe I bought the version 10 last year August for about $49 for single user.

Or you can also use the Screen Clipping functionality in OneNote (by pressing Start button + S if you have OneNote 2007 or 2010)

  • If you're asking how to do screen captures with annotations, as seen in Cromanty's post, the SnagIt is very good.

If you're asking what software to use for Image/Icon editing then I'd recommend Axialis Icon Workshop. It makes brilliant icons and is very easy to use.

  • Anybody know the size for the icon? Or i can use any normal icon? It looks smaller than regular icon.

  • Small icons are 16x16. Large icons are 32x32.

The visible area of the plus sign is 13x13 and the plus with three dots is 15x13 but there are slight shadows/antialiasing around the solid areas which makes them 15x15 and 15x16.

Both icons sit on a button that is 16x16.
