I downloaded Windows Developer Preview without developer tools, and now I want to install Visual Studio 11. It said I need the developer tools to use it. Can I download the developer tools without downloading everything? A previous thread said something
to the effect that I could download the tools with my MSDN Subscription, but I couldn't find a download. What is the best way to get the developer tools?
The short story is that you need the Windows Developer Preview with developer tools English, 64-bit (x64) image to write Metro style apps. The separate install of Visual Studio 11 can be used for Desktop apps.
