windows8 on other tablets - Apple Ipad/HP Touchpad/Samung Tab

    General discussion

  • Hi,

I know that the support for windows 8 on other tablets running on ARM is currently not available.

Can Microsoft consider the procedure "How to install windows 8" on tablets like - Apple iPad/HP TouchPad/Samsung Tab/...etc., Maybe they can put small teams that can focus a particular area, the same way Apple provides BootCamp to support Windows...

It should come up as a disclaimer that - only for advanced users/make the changes at your own risk/we don't guarantee or resolve any performance issues and so on.

It would be great for people who want to switch to Windows8 from iOS or WebOS or Android.

    Thanks.

  • It is about drivers. Someone has to write Windows drivers for those devices. Apple write drivers for Bootcamp. Asus wrote drivers for Eee Pad. But you do not see dual boot devices that often. Hardware manufacturers may not make a dual boot device their priority.

That would violate the Apple EULA for those devices. Can you imagine the
law suits involved if Microsoft did something like what you're asking?
Isn't going to happen, at least not by Microsoft directly.
