  • Touching a message marked for submission with the Outlook Object Model or UI cancels the submission process. Do not do that.

Why do you do use events on the Outbox folder? Why not use the Application.ItemSend event?

  • Well actually due to some random code flow we registered outbox for notification as well. On the itemadd event we just read couple of properties and the unread property of the mail item was still true.

Also any reason why it only affects the meeting request items alone and on some instances alone the normal emails ?

  • So it sounds like you don't actually need notifications for the Outbox folder. Why not exclude the Outbox folder from your  random code flow?

Assume that message submission will always be cancelled when you touch it with OOM.
