WCF-SAP, Application domains, and MaxConnectionsPerSystem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been trying to understand how the MaxConnectionsPerSystem setting works for the WCF-SAP adapter (see binding properties). I understand this property controls the maximum number of connections in the adapter's connection pool, and the scope of this is the application domain. What I am trying to figure out is what constitutes an AppDomain in BizTalk for send ports and receive locations. Is it a BizTalk host instance? A BizTalk application? A particular BizTalk application assembly?

I've found articles that describe the AppDomain Configuration works for Orchestrations, but not send ports or receive locations.

My ultimate question is: If I have WCF-SAP send ports and receive locations across various BizTalk applications, host instances, and servers in a BizTalk group, how can I determine what my "real" maximum number of connections are going to be?
