SQL server 2008R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed SQL server 2008R2 into my Window 7 64-bit machine, but when I go to SS Management Studio, there are only two items, "Running Packages" and "Stored Packages" showing on the Object Explorer on the left pane of SSMS. Where is the Database folder that I need it to work on my databases? I guess I installed it incorrectly, but I didn't know how I can fix it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Answers

  • might be you have connected to the integration services while connecting from SSMS, incase while installing if you have selected the server type is database engine(then this will install of sql server databases engine) then installed correctly then change the server type to the database engine then try again(verify sql is up & running)

    or

Verify what components installed in the below location-
    %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\. The time-stamped log folder name format is YYYYMMDD_hhmmss.

  • Hello,

Rama is right, you are connected to "Integration Services". In the connection dialog choose "Database Engine" as server type instead.
