DOM Explorer is empty while debugging

    Question

  • Hi,

This happened a few days ago. I cannot remember whether I had installed some update or changed something in the configuration of VS before that.

So DOM Explorer is empty while debugging and the Ctrl+Shift+B shortcut does not work. I cannot inspect my page's rendering.

Is this a known issue and how can I resolve it?

  • I happened on every page, even in a brand new project. The JavaScript Console showed a message of the sorts: "You are currently not attached to a running page."

I managed to fix it by repairing VS. Why the problem occurred in the first place remains a mystery. I hope it does not happen again.

  • How do you "repair" Visual Studio?

    Thanks!
