Kinect for Windows: Few questions regarding licensing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have read http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindows/develop/sdk-eula.aspx and have a few questions regarding licensing. I plan to develop my own application using Kinect for Windows SDK. This application tracks the skeleton points using Kinect and then draw an avatar (using XNA or some other instruments). I plan to use my application to create cartoons for kids. So, my questions are:

    1) I plan to commercialize my application. Are there any license limitation if I plan to distribute (sell) the copies of it (or licenses to use it)

2 I plan to distribute (sell) the drawn cartoons. Are the any license limitations here?

    3) I have my own LTD company in Russia. Am I able to get writing answers on the questions above?

  • #1  yes for kinect applications you can sell. #2 the cartoon part im not for sure about the xna people might be able to tell you here at their forum:

or email the support email that website gives for the avatar part of your process.

#3 not for sure but you should be able to use this forum and get email responses from support teams for kinect and xna if you email the correct team.
