    Is there any recommendation or best practice how to protect your Bing Maps Key?

    Retrieving it from a HTTPS service?

  • You should read this answer. There is no need to protect/hide keys since everybody can obtain one, and Microsoft can track easily any abuse.

    There is no need to protect your key. Anyone can create one and get access to the Bing Maps API. If there is suspicion of abuse of a key we have the ability to track back the usage. [...]

    IMO this situation is non-satisfying!
