Report Server Database Downgrade

    Question

  • Greetings,

I'm encountering the following error when connecting to my report server web service URL:

The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is '2017'. The expected version is '162'.

Is there a way I can downgrade to version 162?

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

  • Hello,

No, it's not possible to downgrade any SQL Server database.

  • Hi Marshall991,

I ever had an same experience as you, when I use the same report serevr database in report server and powerbi report server, it will have issue.

As Olaf said, you can't downgrade the report server  database, so you need to create a new report server database for report server and use corresponding powerbi report server database for power bi report server.
