How to mixin multiple editors like HTML/CSS/JS

    Question

  • Hi,

I would like to create an XML-based editor that for some elements or attribute has embedded editor of other language (similar like HTML editor mix with C#, JavaScript or CSS). I know that I should use IProjectionBuffer and IBufferGraph but there is no documentation or sample how to do that. I found some question when there was promised release of sample how to do that but I cant find it: http://go4answers.webhost4life.com/Example/create-editor-language-mixins-4985.aspx.

Does any body know how to do that?

  • Hi rosieks,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to extend an editor with IProjectionBuffer and IBufferGraph.

The below are some source links about Editor Extensions, please have a look.

    Getting Started with Editor Extensions

    Editor Extension Points

However, I wonder whether there would be some issue on complier if you develop such a multiple language editor.

Based on my research, There is a similar requirement with yours, I have added the link for you below please have a look.

  • Thank you Sophia for answer, but still there is no sample how to use IProjectionBuffer or IBufferGraph. Do you know what is the status of sample announced by Chris Granger?

  • Hello, I have read the article you mentioned above and I think it would be better if you directly post a reply to ask the current status from Chris Granger.

As for the sample, I'm trying to involve some senior engineers into this issue and it will take some time. Your patience will be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.
