Embed an App for Excel on my website

Question

Hi,

I have developed and published an charting app for Excel 2013 and I want to add a demo with demo data on my website. But when I try do that, it says, I do not have access to directory. This app lives in Windows Azure. What can I do to have the demo running. I probably need to have a secure URL to add on the website embed. How do I do that? Can this be done on any other website or should it be a SharePoint website?

Hi,

In sharepoint 2013,you can add apps to sharepoint site,here is an article of how to add apps to sharepoint,it may help you.

Paul, Thanks for you response. I currently do not have a SharePoint site, even though my MSDN subscription has it. I just wanted to know if I can do it with a website template I am currently running to showcase my apps functionality. Can I do it with Non-SharePoint sites or Will it only work with SharePoint?

Hi Mzamose,

if you would like to create a website template with apps in azure, i suppose it should be also ok.

Sharepoint is only one way to achive it, because sharepoint may become the platform for your libraries and items.
