Problem Bug VBA in Excel - Impossible to get into the code anymore RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I use VBA in excel for months and suddenly got a problem a few days ago concerning the VBA excel menu and access to the code.

I can still run my existing codes and use the function record macro. But a bug appears in Excel: I can’t inside the developer tab open the menu “Visual Basic” or “View code” or “Run Dialog”.

The same problem appears if I create a new file.

I tried to uninstall completely Excel (including all office registries) and reinstall it but the bug is still there. It is quite problematic since the only solution I am thinking about is to format my computer.

Does someone have an idea about how correct this bug?

    Thanks in advance,

    Joe

  • Re:  access to the VBE

Maybe your trial period has ended.
Maybe your IT dept has instituted a new policy.
Maybe all of the Visual Basic options for Excel have not been selected...
Check in control panel | Add or Remove Programs | Change | Add or Remove features
Maybe you are using an older version of Excel which is not supported on Windows 8
Maybe you are using Office 2013 which seems to have more problems than solutions

The key strokes:  Alt + F11 should open the VBE.
