Windows Simulator No Longer Works After Upgrading from Developer Preview to Consumer Preview RRS feed

  • Try to launch Simulator from Visual Studio and it throws an error that says the Simulator is not compatible with the current operating system

  • Can you please explain your upgrade path here? Did you do a clean install or did you do some sort of upgrade and if so from which version of the OS and Visual Studio to which?

    Are you running the Visual Studio 11 Beta on the Windows 8 Consumer Preview?

  • In addition to what Rob mentioned,

    could you also run powershell as administrator and run the cmdlet get-windowsdeveloperlicense

    PS C:\Windows\system32> get-windowsdeveloperlicense

    ExpirationTime                                                                                                  IsValid
    --------------                                                                                                  -------
    3/30/2012 2:16:54 PM                                                                                               True

    When running under the simulator, it checks for a developer license.
