ASP permission error accessing COM object running under IIS 6 .net 2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • What does it mean if you are accessing com objects via IIS and you get permission errors when you are trying to access from asp (running in a .net2 website) but successful access when you access via aspx (.net 2).

What do I need to do to allow asp/vbscript calls to access these com objects?

I have a website that is able to access these com objects by both asp and aspx and I have configured the site on working on in the same way, but something is missing and there are not a lot of diagnostics other than VSScript 70/permission errors.

This is running on IIS6, Windows 2003 server, .net 2 web site
