Best way to Create a Stats report RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am currently in the process of creating a report that counts demographics from a consumer table.  I have around 30 different categories that i need to summarize.  What would be the best way to use Linq to Entities to perform this task.

I would suspect that telerik reporting is similar to Crystal Reporting
that does the counts for you by category if given the information to do
so.  And by also setting the DataSource of the control to the results
returned by a stored procedure. I don't see anything that EF and Linq
could buy on this, and the process using EF and Linq could be
considerably slower than using an sproc.

The easiest thing to do would be to use a stored procedure and Crystal
Reports. That's the easiest thing to do.
