Error MSB4012 When trying to build a database project RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When I try to compile a database project, it fails and spits out

04012: The expression "@(IntermediateSymbolsPath->'@(_OutputPathItem->'%(FullPath)')%(Filename)%(Extension)')" cannot be used in this context. Item lists cannot be concatenated with other strings where an item list is expected. Use a semicolon to separate multiple item lists. C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\SSDT\Microsoft.Data.Tools.Schema.SqlTasks.targets 162 24

Which in turn means the projects that reference it fail to compile, leading to quite a few errors.

I've looked online and seem information semi-related to that error, but nothing related to this SSDT MSBuild file.

Running Visual Studio 2012 Premium, converted from a Visual Studio 2008 DB Edition solution/project
