Windows 8 Touch Injection , manually selecting primary pointer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Windows 8 new Touch Injection API, with Interop on C#.

I wonder if anyone know if there is a way to specifically tell Windows which touch input is the primary one?

As it is of now, Windows chooses the first input recognized to be the primary one (meaning this will be the one recognized in all non-touch applications).

I am using InjectTouchInput in User32.dll and when I try to send any touch report including POINTER_FLAG_PRIMARY it will always return false. If I do not use the flag it works, but the primary input is only selected if all touch points is released and one is sent again.

Microsoft seem to have different values for POINTER_FLAG_PRIMARY on different pages, but I have tried both 0x100 and 0x2000

Also, whenever more than one touch point is sent, even if all but the primary is hovering, it is not possible to perform any edge gestures. Is there a way to get around this?
