Problem with WCF service RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have following issue regarding WCF service:<o:p></o:p>

There is problem in opening the host service. It throws 'System.Runtime.CallbackException' saying "The service hosted faulted. A user callback threw an exception."<o:p></o:p>

Below are the details of the server environment: (Here we are hosting our service)<o:p></o:p>

Operating System: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 (64-bit OS).

    <o:p></o:p>

Have tried re-installing below framework set-ups on this server:<o:p></o:p>

Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5, Microsoft .Net Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack, Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.1 Multi-Targeting Pack, Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.1 SDK.

But still the problem persists on this specific server only.

The same service starts successfully in other environments like Windows 7 having same framework set-ups installed on it.<o:p></o:p>

Hence, we think this is an issue with the environment on that server specifically with the framework or something.<o:p></o:p>

Can someone please help me out with this?<o:p></o:p>

  • Hi,

Please first try to check that if the Application Pool for the IIS Site is set to use to correct .NET Framework version.

To identify the version of .NET being used by the site, first find out the Application pool in use (in IIS, click on Basic Settings for the site), then identify the appropriate pool under the Application Pools node. The .NET Framework version should be listed.

  • Hi,

The forum supports .Net Framework Setup. Your issue isn't related to the forum.

I will move it to the related forum for better support.

    Regards.
