Windows Installer Problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • It seems that over the years there have been scores of people asking for help with Windows Installer, which can get into a pattern of running all the time, blocking new installations. From time to time there have been some tools for troubleshooting, but there doesn't seem to be much right now for Windows 10. It is not clear if this is problem is due to corrupted files, of some kind of virus. Most suggestions come down to revert to a prior restore point or reload the system. Does anyone have suggestions on how to toruble shoot this? I have run every anti-malware program I can think of. I have inspected by registry for keys that cuase probems to run on startup or login. How can I determine what the heck the installer is doing when its running? Thanks.

  • First, tell us more about the application and the setup. If you did not develop it then this is not the forum to get help; the best place to get help is from the supplier of the software.
