Autologon -> LogonCount RRS feed

  • Question

  • The scriptures say:

    LogonCount

    Specifies the number of times the account has been used. LogonCount must be specified if AutoLogon is used.

    Yet not setting this doesn't cause any validation failures.

    I'm not seeing any issues with the image either, other than the fact that I forgot to disable the password expiry (which is a pretty stupid feature to have in embedded h/w!)

  • This value specifies the remaining number of remaining automatic logons and decreases each time the speciefied user was logged in automatically. If this value becomes zero (0), autmatic logon will be disabled.

    To avoid expiry of automatic logon simply remove the value "AutoLogonCount" from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon in the registry.

  • I think this might be a documentation failure, like SkipOOBE being deprecated...

    I just checked my WES7 target, no such variable.

    I do however, have "AutoAdminLogon" (that might be because UAC is disabled though ^^;)
