Issues with ADL Job View in VS 2013

    Question

  • Every attempt to submit a job from Visual Studio is met with an error when the job window opens.

    This happened on both 2.0.5000 and 2.0.6000 tool versions. Visual studio is VS 2013 Update 5.

  • Hi,

    We're sorry you hit this issue.  It's caused by a complicated conflict between the HDInsight VS Tools and the Data Lake VS Tools.  If you install both from the upcoming Azure SDK 2.9.  It should resolve the issue for you.  If you'd like to install the MSI's ahead of time before waiting for the Azure SDK 2.9 release, you can grab them from the Microsoft download servers.  Here are the links:

    Please update both of the installations for the version of VS that you're using.  Alternatively, if you only need Data Lake or HDInsight, you can uninstall the other product using the Windows Control Panel, restart VS, and the issue should go away.
