SQL Server logon failed pocket pc -> asp.net -> wcf service -> different server sql server db RRS feed

  • Question

  • pocket pc windows mobile 5.1 Intermec CN3

    runs ie mobile

    browse to asp.net web page

    hosted on windows server 2008 IIS 7 ( call this server A, has AD delegation )

    asp.net  code accesses

    wcf service hosted in a windows service on server A

    accesses

    MS sql server db on a windows server 2003 ( call this server B, has AD delegation )

    get error message in browser

    Login failed for user ‘NT AUTHORITY/ANONYMOUS LOGON’.

    When debugging see that the message comes from SQL Server.

    In the c# code at the time of the DB access

    WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().AuthenticationType is NTLM

    WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().ImpersonationLevel is Impersonation

    If we access the web page from a windows nt workstation

    we do not get the error.

    We have a windows server 2003 ( call this server C, has AD delegation )

    If this is used instead of server B, the DB is accessed with no error.

    I have tried logging and tracing WCF, but did not see any info on the propagtion of credentials etc.

    I tried using delegconfig web tool, but could make not make it work correctly.

    What else can I do to debug this issue ?
