publish problem with one click HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP RRS feed

  • I have an application that i have published time and time again (newer versions) now to day i am getting two errors

     Error  # 1 Cannot publish because a project failed to build.  

    but i click on build it build and scucceded

    Error # 2

     SignTool reported an error 'Failed to sign bin\Release\LH2000_Data_Querys.publish\\setup.exe. SignTool Error: ISignedCode:Tongue Tiedign returned error: 0x80880253

     The signer's certificate is not valid for signing.

    SignTool Error: An error occurred while attempting to sign: bin\Release\LH2000_Data_Querys.publish\\setup.exe



    I have another vb.net app that i just made changes to and published no problem

  • Hi,to your first question :

    Whenever you publish a project, Visual Studio first builds it. This fatal error occurs when the build process failed, preventing the publish process from occurring.


    That error means there are other build errors you need to fix.

  • To your second question,You can change the certificate used to sign the application from the project
    properties screen. just go to the signing tab, and in the ClickOnce manifest
    section Click one create test certificate button.
