How to roam access to storage files/folders

    Question

  • Hi,

I have win 8.1 app which works with user data.

User have to pick folders using FolderPicker. I store access to these folders in StorageApplicationPermissions.FutureAccessList.

Is there any way how to roam access to these folders on another machine (to folders with same absolute path)?

    Thanks,

    PV

  • You cannot roam the access. The files are different on different systems, even if they have the same path. It's not safe to assume the user wants to grant access on all systems.

  • This is mainly about files stored on onedrive.

Is there any way how to gain access to these files in user friendly way?

Something like request access to collection of files.

  • When user selects set of files from usb removable device. Is there any way how to ask user for permission to this same set of files on another machine? Except using FilePicker and forcing him to select all files again?
