Kinect point cloud angle changing due to vibration of sensor - Accelerometer issue? RRS feed

  • Has anyone had any issues with the point cloud angle with respect to the sensor changing due to vibration of the camera? We suspect that there may be some use of the accelerometer involved, is this correct and how do we disable any correction of the point cloud using accelerometer data?

  • How is the sensor is vibrating? What is happening at the time? How are you calculating point clouds, from the depth data or using Kinect Fusion? What Kinect of value changes are you seeing?

    Kinect Fusion does provide point cloud data that provides data based on the camera values. Keep in mind, data is with respect to the POV of the camera, so if the camera changes moved left/right/up/down, the depth values will change to reflect that. Also, there is noise and resolution that have to be averaged out to compensate.
