Access to Office suites and apps without requiring MSDN with VS Premium/Ultimate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just purchased a bunch of MSDN Platforms subscriptions for our support team so that they could mirror customer environments for testing and troubleshooting.  I noticed that the Office suites and individual apps are not available for download with this type of subscription.  MSDN Premium and Ultimate seem to be the only subscriptions that include them, but it just doesn't seem worth paying for Premium/Ultimate if these agents don't need Visual Studio and its related tools.

Is there a way to purchase testing access to just the Office suite?  Our support agents need access to Office 2003 through 2013.

As an alternative, I was thinking of purchasing several licenses of Office with Software Assurance, but I'm not sure if that will give these folks access to all the Office suites going back to Office 2003.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Chris I think you're asking about things that aren't included in MSDN, which is sort of the exact opposite of things I know about :)  Well at least work wise, anyway. We could talk homebrewing or seahawks if you want? ;)

I think there's several places for you to look for additional help with this.  I think a few are:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/business/ (this would be where you start purchasing licenses, I think)

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=officegeneral (possibly, most of the posts seem technical)

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office (this is the general office forums)

I hope some of these links help you!

    Thanks,
    Mike
