I need a Find-and-Replace macro/add-in for MS Word with regex support RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Do you know where I can find a Find-and-Replace macro/add-in for MS Word that supports full-fledged regular expressions (not just wildcards)?

I need to a dialog where I can enter a complex regex search pattern and the corresponding replace pattern.

See http://www.tmehta.com/regexp/ and you can probably adapt the code at http://www.tmehta.com/regexp/add_code.htm

  • hello quantissimo,

There is no one Add-in available in vba macro ,when we need like that kind of program we manually wrote a macro for the same and create a Add-in and link with the macro code.

    thanks & regards,

  • I have seen few Addins and this is how it works The Regular Expression gets executed om the Word document's content and then a list of matches are found These list of matches are then run on the Word document and a Find & Replace is made. This works to a great extent but there are some limitations .. the whole word search in Regex is different from Word Find and Replace I don't know if there are any advanced Add-ins these days (using OpenXML, RTF etc) Cheers Shasur

  • Hi Shasur,

Can you remember any of these add-ins?
