Shells with variable aspect ratio, resolution, and orientation RRS feed

  • I am having trouble coming up with a scheme to have seemless good-looking shell screens that support variable screen resolutions/aspect rations, and orientations.

    Instead of fixed x,y and w,h I use percentages which gets me in the ball park, but does not look really great (looks liek a programmer did it instead of an artist).  The shell has got to look great as it the first impression before you get into the game.

    I have considered multiple shells and graphics, one for each of the major resolutions in both portrait and landscape but that seems like a lot to do.

    Surely somebody else has hit this same issue.  does anybody have any suggestions?
