cache preview storage account RRS feed

  • Question

  • Q1:

Is it a problem if I use the same storage account for Cache preview in staging and production environment? (in both environments I use the same region and key names, but I cache different data)

If it is a problem, can I still use the same storage account with different region names?

What happens when I have another hosted service, which uses the same storage account as well. In this case I want the same: to use same key/region names to cache different data.

(if I am not mistaken, it is role-based which means it should not be a problem to use the same keys/regions/storage account to store different data)

  • Hi ladeak,

I run a quick test on my dev machine (using dev storage also):

As you can see the deployment name is appended as prefix in the cache cluster identifier/name, therefore you should be OK sharing the same storage account between Staging and Production (or other) deployments. In shorts words: it gets properly isolated.

    Hope this answers your question!

    Best Regards,
