can't connect to source sql in data migration service in the azure portal RRS feed

  • i get this error : " "errorType":"Failed to connect, please check error details", "errorDetail":"Error 53 - SQL connection failed.Please use this interactive user guide to troubleshoot the connectivity issue: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)The network path was not found" }" when i try to connect to source of aws rds , i opened all port of sql in my computer and a am able to connect to the db via mysql-workbench . i typed in source sql instance name the format "" and checked trust server certificate

    Please make sure you have white listed the client IP on the server firewall.

    Also make sure "Allow access to Azure Services" is enabled.

  • done that and got the same error ,

    in my Azure sql server and still got this error ,

    in AWS rds (my source mySql server of auorora ) all acces is public .

  • So if i understand correctly, you are connecting to MySQL on AWS from your computer using MySQL Workbench and there are no issues.

    But while connecting to Azure SQL server from your computer you get this error. Is my understanding right?

    Do you have SSMS installed on your machine? Are you accessing Azure portal from the same machine to add the Client IP?
