i am getting this error while creating website in Visual studio 2010

Unable to Create the Web site 'http://localhost/website'  The web server Http://localhost coult not be found

It seems you are trying to create website on local IIS. Please make sure that IIS is properly installed and configured.

one website is already running on IIS  http://100.43.43.1:3185 

then y it is showing error for new website??

Hi,

if you type in http://localhost in your browser of choice. Does it open that page or errors out?

Which means IIS is not locally installed/configured on your machine.

IIS isn't installed properly according to the error message, you could try check IIS installation first.
