Generating customised XML in Word 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In word 2007, Using Schema and custom XML we insert custom XML nodes in Word Document and finally generate XML.

Now we have to give support to Word 2010. Can any one give some idea about Applying content Control for different parts of a word document and generate XML.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Antony

I know what you're talking about (custom XML having been removed in 2010 and content controls being the substitute), but you don't provide enough information about exactly what you need to do that we can provide useful information.

Here are some links with general information on the topic that may help you get started

  • Hi Cindy,

    Thanks for your useful information.

Actually i need to develop a Add-in like Microsoft's Article Author Add-in. The only difference in my tool is the way of applying tags. In MS's Add-in, tags are applied while creating the document. In my tool author document is the input and user has to apply tags based on the content. And finally generate the XML from the structured document. The final XML should fulfill the customer DTD specifications.

As i am new to .net it is little bit trouble to find a right solution. I hope the above information is enough. If you need further info please feel free to ask.

    Thanks.
