Answers

  • Streetside coverage information is not available in the Silverlight control. Note that the streetside functionality in Silverlight is in beta and not a fully supported control.

  • Currently the focus has been on HTML5 and the Bing Maps v7 AJAX control. I have no infromation on the roadmap for the Silverlight control.

  • There is currently no other method to get Streetside in the AJAX control at this time. Also note that the Silverlight streetside control is in beta and not recommended for production use.

  • Thank you for answer.

Is there any possibility to get streetside coverage information? May be I can get this data from server that serves ajax control, and then apply this tiles on the silverlight map control as a new layer? Where can I get names of this servers and how can I use it. Is it legally?

    Thank you.

  • Thanks for the quick response.

Do you know what is the Microsoft plan about silverlight control? Will be supported and develop silverlight control? When approximately to expect release version of silverlight control with streetside coverage information?

    Thank you.

  • Excuse me, my last question. Can I get streetside coverage information in the AJAX v7 control? If I use AJAx control and I want to add street side mode, I should use Bing Maps Silverlight Control Extended Modes Beta and I should replace my AJAX control to the Silverlight control, when user click to the "Street side mode" button. Right? Is there another way to add street side mode to the AJAX map? Thank you.
